The stay

Three private homes, one quiet beach.

Casa, the Casita, and the Studio are separate residences, built with Belizean hardwoods from the Maya Mountains, about twenty miles inland. They are not hotel rooms.

What they share is the beach — two lots — and a 75-foot pier with a palapa. The shore is still spacious enough for each stay to have its own stretch of sand.

La Vida Belize is truly a home away from home. The house is beautiful and well-maintained. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. The views are amazing and we caught fish just off the beach via the kayak. It was everything the host described and we had a great trip.

After four days hiking in the mountains and jungle, we were ready to slow down. From the moment we saw the casita, we knew we chose the right spot. Perfectly tended and welcoming… from the tumbled stone path and the blooming hibiscus to the reviving plunge pool and coconut palms gently swaying on the very private beach… we felt as if it was our own oasis. The private pier, complete with palapa, was our go to spot for spectacular sunrises and astoundingly stargazing. Highly recommended.

THE BEST Airbnb we ever stayed at. Came here for our honeymoon and it was everything we could’ve imagined and more… close enough drive to the restaurants and the village, but far enough away for total and complete privacy. Pablo the groundskeeper was absolutely amazing for anything we needed. The small details that this place provided were unlike any place we stayed at before and really set it apart. The pool was amazing and we picked and cracked coconuts every morning right from the property for our smoothies (best local fruit you could ever ask for). Everything about the property was amazing and we will definitely be back.

This was by far my favorite place to visit, especially when traveling with a big family. It was super comfortable, pool was great for the kids and we all enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

Day trips

Placencia, and farther out.

Placencia Village and Maya Beach are a short ride south, for dinner, groceries, and boats. From this part of the peninsula, guests go on to the Silk Cayes, Monkey River, and Bocawina. There are no photographs of those places in the set we were given, so none are shown here as if they were the property.

  • Maya Beach

  • Placencia Village

Restaurants, shops, and tour boats at the south end of the peninsula.

  • Silk Cayes

A boat day on the barrier reef. Not photographed in this package.

  • Monkey River

A river trip guests have taken during a stay. Not photographed here.

  • Bocawina

Inland park and trails, west of the peninsula. Not photographed here.

Our story

A beach to come home to.

La Vida is three homes on one shore, close enough to Placencia for a night out and far enough that the evening belongs to the pier. Mornings can be a kayak, an afternoon a pool, and the night a chair under the palapa.

The grounds are looked after while you stay. Alyssa T wrote that groundskeeper Pablo was there for anything they needed. A host introduction will replace this note when it is ready.
